Antiques, Art and Collectibles Auction

The Synagogue’s 18th annual Antiques, Art & Collectibles Auction will be held Sunday, February 26, 2017, at the Antilles School’s MCM Center. Doors open at 10 a.m. and the gavel falls at noon. Silent auction bidding starts at 10 a.m., and our flea market opens at 10 a.m. as well.

This is the Synagogue’s only fund-raiser of the year, and one of the island’s great social events, drawing hundreds of people. Proceeds from this wonderful event help us maintain our historic 184-year-old Synagogue —  a National Historic Landmark — and keep it open to about 10,000 grateful visitors each year.

Proxy bidding is available, and shipping can be arranged for those who can’t be there. Call the Synagogue at 340-774-4312 for details or email info@synagogue.vi.

This year’s live auction will have a great deal of antique furniture, outdoor and indoor furniture, collectibles, home accessories, art, wine tastings, and fun packages that you can’t find anyplace else.

The expanded silent auction will include nearly 400 items: new and vintage furniture and jewelry, unusual collectibles,  art, cases of wine, weekend getaways, gift certificates from shops, spas and restaurants…and much more. Silent auction tables open at 10 a.m. and close between 1 and 3:15 p.m.

Previews of all auction items will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, February 26th

Sale tables open at 10 a.m. Sunday and feature jewelry hand-picked by Karen Warhol, former owner of Name Dropper, who has found the latest in France, Italy and New York. Jewelry tables this year will also be laden with old costume jewelry, designer bags and other finds.

Sale tables also offer the usual array of tchotchkes — glassware, china, crystal, vases, cookware, baskets, frames, etc. — as well as new and gently used clothing, belts, purses and scarves in our flea market tent.
Special sale tables will feature beautiful pieces by master wood turner Avelino Samuel of St. John, glass beads created by Timisa Cree of St. Thomas, jewelry from Sherri Levin, and pottery by Jessica Rosenberg.
Our auctioneer this year will be the inimitable George Blackhall, accompanied by the indomitable Leigh Goldman.
Admission is $10 and includes the auction catalogue.
Food and wine will be available all day, with catering again this year by Passion Fruit Chefs.
Please note that some items shown on this website may not be included in the auction. And items not shown here will be included in the live and silent auction.
We invite you to visit our beautiful Synagogue on Crystal Gade in downtown St. Thomas. Approximately 10,000 tourists visit the Synagogue each year, and the 220-year-old Congregation has long played an active and vibrant role in our community, sponsoring concerts, art exhibits, interfaith activities, food drives and other events.
